week 3.14.12 with tombos

I came to class this week, opened up my bag and I noticed that I forgotten my pencil sharpener! So rather than sticking with the original plan, I used the three tombo markers that I knew worked well together. The sketches aren't as detail-y like the pencil ones, but they turned out to look punchy and energetic.

an earlier experiment with tombos from 10.19.11

Tombos are pretty fun to use. I think with some of these more developed sketches, I wasn't exactly sure which color I should have used to capture skin tone. The confusion actually made for pretty cool sketches.

tombos part II

This is another attempt at tombos, but this time I'm utilizing color. I wasn't really satisfied with most of the gestures, because it seemed like I was sketching with a highlighter. The later sketches progressed into something watercolor-y. Overall, it was a fun exploration.
